Something else broke....

Just as we were starting to feel up about things, something else broke. As we went to turn on our anchor light last night, we found that it was dead! That's what we get for putting off that job. The anchor light is a all around white light at the top of the mast that is illuminated when it's dark so that we are visible.

 We didn't want to have nothing so we filled an empty bottle with water, taped a LED light to it and hoisted it halfway up the mast to one of the spreaders. We are in the middle of an anchorage so it's pretty clear we aren't underway. It's not exactly the same thing but it's better then nothing!

We were quite amazed at how bright it is. It was quite disconcerting to look up through the hatch above our bed and see a water bottle hanging there . And we braced ourselves for it to come crashing down during the night. It didn't! Another job for today...
